For me it has to be Dig by Mudvayne. this was around the time of the birth of Nu metal, I was 17 and had just moved away from home to join the Royal Air Force. I was thrown in the deep end as I had lead a pretty sheltered life up until that point. When you go through the military for the first few weeks in basic training you have no identity, you are just a number. One saturday afternoon (after finishing my kit prep) I pit on my small cd player and put on my mudvayne cd, I did so quite now to not disturb the room and a guy walked past who I had barely spoke to in my room and said it was cool. To this day he is my best friend, we have been eachothers best man for our weddings. We used that song for practicing marching, It became our 'getting ready to go out drinking' song, good before a good PT scession to get the blood pumping, and it was always on in the rock clubs.
