    Default Why that song?

I could quite easily have listed For Whom the Bell Tolls by Metallica or perhaps Jizzlobber by Faith No More or maybe even Holy Wars/Punishment Due by Megadeth - each played their part in my life and allow me to think back to times when they always seemed to be playing in the background when the good moments were happening.

But, out of all the tracks I have heard throughout the years, I have picked Stain Remains by Life of Agony as my favourite:

It was the last summer school holidays before I started work full time and it was the best 6 weeks of my life (arguably). My best mates were all about, girls were plentiful (appreciate what you did Laura D) and jaunts and japers were occurring every day without fail. I don't think I was getting in at night/morning until gone 2-3am every day and Stain Remains was the tune of choice - it just seemed to encapsulate everything that was going on and the great vibes. None of my friends were 'metal heads' in any capacity, but they all took to this record as if it had always been their genre of choice.

Stain Remains is by no means one of the well known tracks by Life of Agony. This Time and Through and Through were the world-beaters as such, but as much as I like both tracks they never strummed that extra chord to make them special.

Paul was my one of my best mates back in 1993 and I, to this very day, remember the events with crystal clarity as to when I introduced him to this track. There was a huge grin on my face when he started to nod his head to the 'every day I live it, every day I face it, every day I hate it' part of the track. 10 years later Paul and I stood on the terraces at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid at half time singing Stain Remains like a couple of dumb Brits!

If you would like to find out more about Life of Agony then visit their Home Page where you can read about the band and check out some of their other videos.

    Thanks for reading.

For me it has to be Dig by Mudvayne. this was around the time of the birth of Nu metal, I was 17 and had just moved away from home to join the Royal Air Force. I was thrown in the deep end as I had lead a pretty sheltered life up until that point. When you go through the military for the first few weeks in basic training you have no identity, you are just a number. One saturday afternoon (after finishing my kit prep) I pit on my small cd player and put on my mudvayne cd, I did so quite now to not disturb the room and a guy walked past who I had barely spoke to in my room and said it was cool. To this day he is my best friend, we have been eachothers best man for our weddings. We used that song for practicing marching, It became our 'getting ready to go out drinking' song, good before a good PT scession to get the blood pumping, and it was always on in the rock clubs.

    This:

This song is the one I always turn to when I am feeling upset or angry etc.

I have a massive (6000) collection of songs on my computer but that one is always the first one I will fire on when I feel like I need something to cheer me up. Gone through many a sad time with that playing.

Pretty much the reason I bothered starting to listen to heavy metal (and of course rock and roll) an awful lot. For better or worse of course.

I have three songs that I'd like to put here, last year I went through a rough patch, I lost the job, I was in for two years prior and it was hard for me, these songs helped me through it all. All three are sad, all three are by the genius of Yoko Kanno and all three are from that, brilliant, awesome anime; Cowboy Bebop.

It also inspired a certain special scene(s) in Secret War at the time.

Have this one to thank for rescuing me from 90's pop...Used to be all over Spice Girls, Steps, S-Club and all that....Until this came on in my dad's car one day and I never looked back.

I listen allot towards different metal, rock and dojin bands. these songs where played on my youtube when i was in some serious crisis.

    here i go.

OK, this isn't everyone's cup of tea, But once i play this song allot when i was in a crisis with my best friend, who i refuse to let go as a lover and re-accept her as a friend.

She was about to leave me behind on that moment because i meddle way too much with her affairs and i fear that once she starts to leave me that i will keep lamenting about this and keep longing for her return till the end of time.

lucky, after 6 months we decide to rebuild our friendship again But this song still applies towards me, Because i long way too much for women that i might never ever see again. This song make me realize that i have to let go of the women who haunt my past and accept the ones who want to love me as much as i do.

    A other song.

This is a video that i played allot. On the moment i play it i was into one of the deepest crisis of my life in where i had a long argument with one of my brothers that lasted a year. The arguments where about everything, all the stuff my brother had bullied me over the past 27 years and where i felt i could no longer tolerate his dominate and bossy attitude. However in his mind, he was thinking he is helping me by bossing me around But on the moment he started to meddle with the affairs of me and my best friend, that is where i start drawing the line.

I wanna be treated as CPA the adult, not as CPA "the little kid who he needs to teach something. "

All in all it is a brother vs brother argument that has gone so out of hand where my parents had to step in and force my brother to leave my place.

it finally took like 7 months before he move towards Ireland to work for Google and a other 5 months before the dust finally started to settle down. He did make a jerk movements such as raging over the phone that he doesn't accept he needed to pay the rent for all the time he was staying in my house when he promise me to pay it more than half a year ago.

This song kinda reminds me of that year long argument, even when i wasn't trying to destroy my brother,i just want my house back, i just wanna be myself again, as a adult and not as a little kid.

This is a arrangement of touhou's song "green eyed jealously" make by a japanese artist named Nazz-can.

This song is one of the important songs because i play it after i realize what was driving me and my brother towards such ugly arguments.

    Jealously

My brother was jealous at me because i was given allot of things by my parents while he had to work his butt out to get the things he wanted.

I in return was jealous at him because he manage to get a bachelor and a master degree in university while i struggle so much in getting a proper job and keep it.

My brother thought that i was the golden child and that he has to live under the shadow of my father.

I thought that my brother had the touch of god and that i was nothing, a complete zero.

Over time this double sided jealously grew and grew and hate started to manifest itself I was basically my brother's biggest rival and It almost destroy me. Over time I decided that instead of trying so hard to just be like my brother, why not try to be myself? I still don't have a job, but i don't care anymore. I'm learning Japanese and I hope i can become a English teacher in Nagasaki and help out my mother with giving English lessons towards Japanese students.

Jealousy IMO is one of the worst sins, simply because it can be hidden under so many different feelings and thoughts. It is really the monster with the green eyes, a snake that crawls between curtains of thoughts and feelings. Biting you where it hurts you the most.

It is the end, the only reward for jealousy is self-destruction and i wish more people would have realize this..

Oh dear oh dear, all this metal and other assorted thing-a-ma-jiggers.

Why this song? Cause every once in awhile you just want to hear someone tell it like it is.

If you're going to go, go big. Plus you get Danny Trejo as your bartender, which is also sweet.
