It does, and I was torn between my two lists but I decided to use the Sicaran in the hope I could take down at least the Raven with Interceptor plus have threat saturation with the Vindicator. The Deredeo is good but would have been a single target for lots of things, plus the mission for me was all about getting as many units up field as quickly as possible (because Andrew had greater numbers PLUS each of his ObSec units is worth 2 of mine on objectives). Deredeo has to remain stationary to get Skyfire etc.

We're going to have a rematch (outside of the tournament) where we play the same mission and I try the other list, to see if it makes a difference.

A really engaging and entertaining sounding batrep. The rule/mission set is something I have no experience or knowledge of, but the game seemed to be very close and sounded like a whole heap of fun.

The question of what to do when there a multiple flyers in the air is always a tricky one. With a single flyer you can often get away with ignoring them and just focusing on the ground units. But three is a tad too much fire-power to simple turn a blind eye too. The Deredeo is undoubtedly the better platform for knocking flyers out of the sky. (In fact it is the single best anti-flyer SM unit currently) While also being a pretty decent anti-armour unit and with some good positioning of cover, can be surprisingly durable. But I too am a large fan and advocate of Sicarans, owning two myself. I do find myself typically forgoing lascannons, instead running the slightly cheaper full dakka build, specing for anti-infantry and light vehicle rather than trying to compromise as an all rounder sort. You can also used the saved points for armoured ceramite for that lovely melta immunity, if you so desire. The legacy of glory is spot on for that one use anti flyer blast, but it does leave high and dry after that point, especially so with multiple flyers.

I just realised a mistake I made - in this game and the previous one - the auto-cannon on the Sicaran is twin-linked! I wasn't taking any of my re-rolls to hit! Also Battle of Sarosh grants tank hunter so should have been getting re-rolls on penetration too.

Six shots hitting on 3's re-rolled, glancing on 5's re-rolled really should have brought that Raven down...

Good shout about the heavy bolters vs the lascannons Skringly, I went with them for range but I usually find more shots is preferable and las is expensive. Luckily they are not glued on!

Doh! The twin linked is very much a factor of the awesomeness of the Sicaran and Tank Hunters with the Battle of Sarosh is the icing on the cake. And against everything else, those 15 shots really rip into squads.
