I don't do 40k, since it was only a small interest i had, and GW have killed fantasy for me, i have no interest in the age of failmar rubbish. Mordheim yes.... i still dabble, but the majority of my work these days are board games, or Star Trek Attack Wing, flames of War, and a bit of Dropzone commander. When i can click to upload pictures straight from my phone forums where Ii had to upload to a hosting site, then copy a link and insert it seem so archaic. If anyone wants a nose around my hobby its mainly at www.thegaragegamers.blogspot.co.uk

I can understand, and the fact that so many of the fanbois of WH40k are neo-nazis ruined much of the hobby for mine. I have a few friends that had an interest, but I generally tell about the Ultramarines and their fans to deter them.

My impression is that Ultramarine-fanbois in general are neo-nazis. At least too many has the useless trait of telling people how to think and feel and from that and also Matt Ward's words I conclude that most if not all are neo-nazis. I can be wrong but I don't think so as thats what they want. White superhuman dudes being perfect in every way. But thats Matt Ward for you, literary Hitler 2.0.

In addition the Ultras run around with that toilet-seat a signature of white supremacy in Italy and at the Balkans. So I'm certain over 90% of the Ultramarine-fanbois are neo-nazis or in relation to that.

The only Ultramarine fan I know is Castus. He wears cord jackets with leather elbow patches. I am pretty sure his political leaning is left of centre.

It's been a long time since I posted on Astro, but this thread is a nice proof there's life in it yet! Might even have to break out the paint brushes (and credit card) for the first time in a few years.

Nice to see a lot of names I recognise, but hopefully we can attract some new ones as well.

Poke poke with a pointy stick....

Seems like I lit a little fire here at Astro.

So with no Admins and no real control lets thank our Custodes who keep the Emperors throne running even if they cant fix it.

    Now where to from here.

    *brushes the dust off himself*

Hi. Thought I'd poke my head in and toss two pennies on the table. Warhammer Fantasy hasn't exactly taken a turn for the better, and the prices of both it and 40K aren't exactly competitive with other miniatures hobbies out there. Fresh meat to the grim-dark game tables is also becoming rarer, just like forum goers are a dying breed before the almighty reddit. Recruitment wouldn't be easy, as most new folk to the hobby don't have the loyalty to stick with a community unless it's their IRL gaming group.

That said, this forum has a lot of history, and a lot of heart. If you are serious about breathing new life into it, look at the forum topics and sub topics that have the most recent post back in 2013 or earlier. Get some new content posted in those topics so that when you do start drumming up new recruits, they don't decide to turn tail at the sight of all the dust. If you want to find new life, at least make the place have a semblance of vivaciousness.

Personally, I've been out of touch with the Warhammer community for years, after I boycotted GW for a disagreement I had with their policies. So, while I haven't invested much in the forum, it still is the one I used to know and enjoyed for a time. I will not be the one leading the charge trying to make a change for the better here, but I'll be rooting for ya from the sidelines.

    Be well everyone.

My WIP page. (Goodness I had a bad camera and bad painting skills back in the day.)
