Default Hephesto's Log

Alrighty time for me to get started on the apocalypse armsrace. I\'ll be participating with various stuff;
- iron warriors + traitor guard (with a very good chance of more tanks and artillery after the original armylist is done)
Right now the idea is 2000 points of IW combined with 1500 points renegades who are also seperately playable. And I\'m pretty sure I\'ll eventually get to a baneblade, especially since the apocalypse rules allow chaos to take traitors versions of all imperial special stuff. Which would mean the most basic banebalde of 500 points would be avaible to me.
- tyranid swarm of not yet completely decided size or composition.....lets just say it will get big!

So this is my first tiny update to give a bit of an overview of what you can be expecting from me;
- rebasing and partially reworking my iron warrios
- chaos vindicator (unless I decided to get the linebreaker box I\'ll convert my own)
- small elite renegade forse (grenadiers, forgeworld kits, 1 former iron warrior basilisk , 2 new russes and converted rough riders)
- spawn - cybernetics will be added to better fit with iron warriors
- converted termies (have 4-5 plastic loyalists, time to start building)
- new stuff (csm, possessed, termy lord and spawns have been ordered....as well as a small DE BFG fleet:P)
- hordes of slimy red tyranids joined by a trygon and mieotic spore sacs (about to order thanks to Indra\'s help)
- will probably rebase them as well (urban jungle theme, with extra special thanks to CT and Ocelot for the inspiration)
- worked out background story
- a combined update each month for both sides striving to get the 300+ points extra added to both sides (although once I get to spine gaunts it might be a bit less on the nid side

Starting next week I when I get back home I\'ll get working on the IW and I\'ll start putting up pics and converion stuff.

Cheers,

Hope so....and there\'s also my WE:P

The good news is that from coming week I\'ll have several days a week to work on the various projects for pretty much the next 4-5 months. So once I\'m back this weekend/beginning next week I\'ll be on this like white on rice

In fact a push in the back like the deadline offered by this project is just what I need. Although I haven\'t had much time to work on my wood elves for the tale of x gamers project this month its deadline has kept me thinking and slowly working on them anyway. So the x points a month should be perfect for me. And if it turns out I don\'t have enough time I\'ll just paint up two tanks and voila 300+ points done.

The first month will most likely see some conversion and all the old stuff rebased. But after that things should really kick of :P

The first obstacle has presented itself, to destroy or to battle :P

My traitor guard will have 2 leman russ battle tanks, I already have both of them. However I just remembered that I could convert 1 into a destroyer tank (FW rules) which costs exactly the same. Differences
- no hullmounted heavy bolter and heavy bolter side sponson
- but hull mounted laser destroyer 72\" S9 AP2 Heavy/blast
- very cool visual effect with the removal of the turret and the direct cannon on the hull. So with a bit of converting it shouldn\'t be to difficult to make this look great.

So what do you guys reckon;

1. Lemann Russ Battletank with heavy bolter?

OR

2. Destroyer tank with laser cannon thingy?

The Destroyer tank sounds quite nice in a nasty am going to waste everything way. But it all depends on which one is more effective in battle.

I\'d go for the laser destroyer, because it is such an awesome tank in terms of looks, and you\'d better believe me that people think twice about going near them with their vehicles! or rather in sight of them!

Sounds very very cool Heph!

shame it isn\'t large blast, because that\'d be plain funny.

ah well, go for the laser! everyone needs anti-everything power

You\'re going to love this; I looked in the wrong imperial armour book. Had the old one, but I needed to use imperial armour 1;

- 10 points more expensive

BUT it now has a slightly more evil cannon:P

- 72\" S10 AP2 and here it comes ORDENANCE:evil:

So not only do I get to use the large blast marker with a more devestating weapon than the battle cannon, I\'ll be cutting through armour like butter with the 2D6 pick highest thing.
